Frequently asked questions
Helpful details before you get started
If your question is not answered here, use Get Help. A short, everyday description is all you need.
What if I do not know which service to choose?
That is completely fine. Use Get Help and describe what you want working better. Precision Tech Help will review your request and recommend the right next step.
What kinds of technology can you help with?
Common work includes Windows PCs, Macs, Wi-Fi, printers, phones, tablets, smart TVs, streaming devices, email, Microsoft 365, and smart-home technology. Several smaller tasks can often be combined in a Home Tech Catch-Up visit.
Do you provide remote help?
Some suitable problems may be handled remotely using Zoho Assist. In-home support remains the primary focus, and Precision Tech Help will recommend the appropriate approach.
Which areas do you serve?
Precision Tech Help is based in Hagerstown and serves much of Washington County, Maryland. Some locations farther from Hagerstown may have an additional travel charge. Any travel charge will always be disclosed before you book.
What happens if the work takes longer?
For In-Home Tech Help and Home Tech Catch-Up, additional time may be available at $50 per 30 minutes. Work only continues with your approval.
When and how do I pay?
Payment is due after your appointment. Card and cash payments are accepted.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel or reschedule with at least 24 hours’ notice at no charge. A cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged $50, and a no-show may be charged $75. Precision Tech Help retains discretion for reasonable unexpected circumstances.
Will you ask me to send a password?
No. Precision Tech Help does not request passwords or security codes through website forms, email, or text. Whenever practical, customers enter sensitive credentials themselves during the appointment. Precision Tech Help does not normally retain customer passwords after service.
Should I back up my computer first?
It is sensible to have a current backup of important files whenever possible. If you are unsure what is backed up, mention that in Get Help so it can be considered before work begins.
Do you mount televisions or run cable inside walls?
No. Physical mounting, electrical work, and in-wall cabling are not currently offered. Setup and configuration of TVs, streaming equipment, and other entertainment technology may fit In-Home Tech Help or Home Tech Catch-Up.
Do you work with small businesses?
Precision Tech Help may accept clearly defined small-business technology projects by custom quote. It does not provide managed services, an outsourced help desk, emergency support, or on-call IT.
What should I do before the appointment?
Complete Appointment Information, gather any relevant equipment, and make sure you can access the accounts you may need. Do not send usernames, passwords, Wi-Fi passwords, or security codes through the form, email, or text.
